A day in New York

I was in New York today for a client meeting.  And the verdict is....my love of New York City and its craziness will never cease.  Of course the city if chaotic, and definitely not for the faint of heart, nor claustrophobic, but it's eclectic and electric blends of color, style, and personality is intoxicating.  I was slightly embarrassed to be walking around in my stuffy suit amidst all this great declaration of style and self assurance.  If I had given where I was going more thought, I should have snazzied up my boring business attire look by adding something unexpected to the mix.  A red pump, a leopard print top, or a bold necklace, there is always room to set yourself apart, even when rocking a blah outfit. 

One thing that’s for sure is “Out with the old, in with the New!!”.  All the windows were dressed with Fall looks already!!  As much of a summer baby I am, it actually warmed my heart to see the very familiar sights of blazers, tailored pants, toned down colors, scarves, etc.  This is the season that those of us with a little extra to hide get to shine too.  Blazers, stylish loose shirts, boots!!  Enough with the barely there bikinis, bring on the loosely fitted jumpsuits!!

The stores are prepping to usher in the cold, and serving us a great selection of must have items.  Bring it on!!!

Loving Beyonce's look for her latest Album

We can't gush enough over Beyonce's looks for her latest album.  They're playful, fierce, sexy, fun.  This reminds us of the inspiration behind the Swaye look that we work so hard to bring to you.  In these looks, Beyonce exudes confidence, girliness, and an obvious sexiness, that is not off putting.  As women, it's difficult to strike that balance of being the girl guys want and girls want to be friends with.  I think Beyonce hits it out of the ballpark with each and every one of these looks. 

We recently saw a video of Beyonce taking us through her journey of putting this album together.  She spoke of the difficulties of women trying to have it all.   Just like the rest of us mere mortals, Beyonce struggles...as a business woman, (Beyonce now manages herself), a wife, a sister, an aunt, a daughter, etc.  Though our platforms are muc smaller than Beyonce's, these are the same issues of balancing we all struggle with nonetheless.  So while our worlds are contantly spinning out of control, the last thing we should have to worry about is what to wear.  For the CEOs in all of us, CEOs of our households, careers, style...we give you Swaye.

Accessories are an essential for every outfit.  As a busy person, this is something that I end up usually thinking about at the last minute.  To cover last minute self, I recently went out and bought a whole bunch of accessories:  jewelry, hair, belts, scarves, shades, bags, shoes, smell goods .  Yes, even smell goods are accessories, as they accessorize and enhance our image.  Now that I have more that enough, at the moment, m go to accessory, the one thing that is bound to set me apart, are killer bracelets.
